Opportunities in CyberVolunteering

How do you find a CyberVolunteer opportunity?  You may want to start with these sites. 

VolunteerMatch: A site with both face-to-face volunteering and “virtual” volunteering, focused primarily on opportunities in the United States. Tip: Use the following method to find your ideal volunteer job:  If you don't see a category of sponsoring organization that appeals to you on their Virtual page, click on Search at the top of their page. Enter "Virtual" instead of miles from your house, and, if you wish, enter a word in the Keyword box that reflects your interest/skills, such as "accounting". 

NetAid: A site specializing in online volunteering opportunities around the world. Search engine at site allows one to specific skills, and subject and geographic areas of interest as well as amount of time available for volunteer assignment.
 


SCORE - Counselors to
America's Small BusinessSCORE : An organization of people with business experience who counsel small business persons in developing and running their businesses. 800 of their counselors provide counseling via email.   A membership application and training are prerequisites to becoming a counselor.

 
InterConnection® Interconnection:  This site recruits web designers to create websites for social service projects in the developing world. 

Can't find a suitable volunteer position?  Don't give up! Just pick your favorite organization and ask them to create a CyberVolunteering position for you.  Use the examples you find on this site and on the sites above to explain to them how you can help them!
